Comedy review: Dominic Holland Eclipsed - Free
Voodoo Rooms (Venue 68)
****
Four kids, six books, an award-winning radio series and four screenplays later he is still a really good stand up and now has an amazing tale to hang a routine on.
The show is a properly accomplished bit of writing and his onstage presence is so charming and in control that we could be at the V&A rather than the Voodoo Rooms. A lesser comic would have filled an hour with My Son Spider-Man stories.

Hide AdDon’t worry, you will hear beautifully told tales of Tom, from bad disco dancing through Billy Elliott to movies and, finally, Spider-Man, and hilarious howls of anguish from a Daddy Showbiz out-showbizzed by his 12-year-old son.
But alongside the eponymous relationship we get some top drawer stand up about being a New Man, the immutable differences between men and women, dog-owning and poo-picking. Tom might be the famous one, but I bet he’d die at The Comedy Store.
Until 27 August. Today 4:40pm.
