Rugby: Muir patience is required

BOROUGHMUIR star Malcolm Clapperton has appealed to rugby bosses for patience as his team make a seventh attempt to fulfil a preliminary Scottish Hydro Cup tie at Kirkcaldy tonight.

Clapperton said: "We were anxious last week that it was going to come down to the toss of a coin or cutting cards to decide who went through then, fortunately, dispensation was provided to keep trying.

"Neither team wants the tie settled off the pitch and everything possible is being done to find a first round opponent for Cartha QP but I've never known a situation where a match has been called off so frequently."

Clapperton admits the uncertainty has proved distracting.
