Hide AdSteele converted a Richie Hawkins try early in the second half but Leonard was on target with a penalty before slotting the conversion after Stevie Wilson dotted down for Boroughmuir’s sixth try – Malcolm Clapperton having claimed the fifth – to seal ’Muir’s third win of the campaign.
Even late tries for Dundee from Brandyn Laursen and Steele failed to tarnish Pringle’s satisfaction with the efforts of his men.
“I was pretty happy with that performance. It was really a big game for us.
“I thought we set the platform with our defence and took the opportunities when they came our way,” said the coach, who believes the mood in the ’Muir camp has been on a more positive trajectory for some time.
“For me it changed a while ago, probably about six weeks ago, but we haven’t had a lot of league games to show that. We know we have turned things around on the training paddock, it’s just a case of showing it on the field,” he added.

“Obviously we have a lot of big games coming up but we want to take them one game at a time and this is a start.”
