Tough starts face Forfar and Airdrie managers

Two managers will be making their debuts with their clubs today and neither of them have it easy, with Gary Bollan taking charge of Forfar for the first time against leaders Dunfermline and Eddie Wolecki Black leading Airdrie against Peterhead.

Bollan said: “It is a tough start to life at Station Park as Dunfermline are playing well and scoring goals again whereas Forfar have not won in the league for a while.

“They have played each other three times so far this season. Dunfermline came out on top in those three games so it would be great to end that run in my first game.”

Pars boss Allan Johnston said: “We have done well against Forfar already this season, however the dynamic of this game has changed with Gary Bollan coming in.”

Wolecki Black, who was appointed on Tuesday, said: “Peterhead’s 3-0 win over Ayr United last weekend made everyone sit up and take notice. ”

Ayr United are out to ensure that Dunfermline’s six-point lead does not grow any bigger and they have included the prodigal Ryan Stevenson in their squad against visitors Brechin after a loan was agreed with Partick Thistle.

Manager Ian McCall said: “Having Ryan back has given everyone at the club a real lift.”

Cowdenbeath will be looking to keep their strong home form running and start an attack on a play-off place by defeating Albion Rovers at Central Park.

Stranraer boss Brian Reid got a vote of confidence from the committee at Stair Park this week and he will be out to pay them back by winning at Stenhousemuir.
