Having already concluded the transfer of English forward Kemar Roofe from Anderlecht for a fee understood to be in the region of £4 million on Tuesday afternoon, the Ibrox club added more firepower to their squad in the shape of Itten.

The 23-year-old, who joined St Gallen from their Swiss Super League rivals Basel for £400,000 two years ago, had one year remaining on his contract. The 6ft 2ins front man, who scored 34 goals in 61 appearances for St Gallen, has signed a four year contract at Rangers.
