Consistency the key for Uni gaffer
Dorian Ogunro, who took over as head coach of Edinburgh University in the summer following the departure of long-serving Douglas Samuel to Spartans, understands university football having been promoted from his position as manager of the Edinburgh Under-21s team. And, at this early part of the season, with many of the students not having returned to their studies, it can be a frustrating time.
He reflected on Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Gretna by saying: “That game was the first occasion in 13 games, including pre-season, that we have been able to field the same back four in consecutive matches, so hopefully that is the beginning of us getting some consistency.”

“Preston are not playing so badly, although they seem to lack a cutting edge. They will be a challenge, especially on our park where every team loves playing on the fantastic surface.
“I would like to think that if we put in the effort of Wednesday and improve on our passing then hopefully we could come away with three points.
“The standards in the Premier Division this season are such that there are a few teams that can push for the top although I feel that Stirling University are still going to be the team to beat.”
Ogunro is hopeful that two of his strikers who were unavailable in midweek – Cyrus Moosavi and Mike Gray – will make the squad.
Preston Athletic manager Bingham, meanwhile is facing a selection headache with Mark Stewart, Steven McCormack, Graeme Nisbet and Fraser Henderson all out as his team try to pick up their first points of the season. The kick-off is 2.30pm.
