A club statement read: “Partick Thistle Football Club has suspended Jordan McMillan, on full pay, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

“The club, including all of its representatives and employees, will be making no further comment at this time.”

Despite being a professional for almost 10 years, McMillan has played less than 100 league games in his career.

He made only five appearances in five years at Rangers and left in 2012 in order to pursue regular first team football.

He was made captain of Dunfermline Athletic later that year, although his experience with the Pars was soured somewhat when the club went into administration. McMillan was one of several first team players made redundant.

He later joined Partick Thistle and played three times as the club won promotion to the top flight.

In his first season he was generally considered a reserve at the full-back positions behind Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Stephen O’Donnell, though has graduated to first choice (when fit) this campaign since the former player departed in the summer.
