UK lotto's biggest-ever jackpot winner still to come forward

LOTTERY officials are still waiting for a multi-millionaire in the UK to come forward to claim the country's biggest-ever jackpot.

There was no clue to the identity or location of the winner of the 84.4 million EuroMillions prize drawn on Friday night.

According to Camelot, the lucky ticketholder could receive the windfall tomorrow if their claim is verified. A National Lottery spokesman said: "This latest win tops the country's amazing run of EuroMillions luck.

"The list of multimillion-pound jackpot winners in the UK just keeps growing – this is the seventh win over 24m in the past year."

The five winning numbers in last night's draw were 01, 17, 31, 43 and 47, with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 03.

Last night's 84.4m prize means the winner would immediately become the 789th richest person in the country, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2010.

Based on figures in the survey released last month, they are just shaded by pop star Robbie Williams and Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who are both worth 85m.

But they are wealthier than the likes of former James Bond actor Sir Sean Connery (80m), rock legend Jimmy Page (75m) and comedian and actor Rowan Atkinson (70m).
