Mills, from Manchester, met the teenager on Facebook when she was 15 and moved to Cwmbran, south Wales, to be with her.
At the time of the fire he was living in a tent in the family’s front garden.
Baby Kimberley, born 13 weeks prematurely, had been allowed home from hospital for the first time on the night of the fire.
Mills is on trial at Newport Crown Court where he denies three counts of murder.
