Pupils learn to save lives

PUPILS at a Midlothian primary school have learned valuable emergency life-saving techniques.

Children at Hopefield Primary School in Bonnyrigg took part in the Emergency Life Support programme, which is part of the British Heart Foundation's Heartstart initiative.

They were led by PE specialist and Heartstart co-ordinator, Susan Outerson.

It is hoped that the pupils will build up a series of skills over the years which they can use if they are ever faced with a real-life emergency.
