COMMUNITY Safety Minister Fergus Ewing has announced funding of £400,000 for councils under the Scottish Government's "Safer Streets" initiative.
Local authorities are being invited to apply for cash for projects ranging from mobile CCTV vans to high-visibility community safety patrols. Edinburgh has previously had funding under the scheme for taxi marshals and nighttime environmental wardens patrols.
