Letter: Dark days for PCs

THE recent controversy regarding police officers' tattoos (News, 9 May) is very apt.

It is not the thuggish appearance that alienates them from the public but the all black and headless uniform which now seems to be the norm.

Compare the appearance of the Met to Lothian & Borders. No comparison.
