Letter: Burning issue

QUESTIONS must be asked as to why the councillors of South Lanarkshire voted to allow a waste incinerator to be built near a town, Larkhall, and on green belt (your article, 9 February).

Where else in the world would 20,000 objections be ignored except in Scotland or possibly China.

The main issue is that green belt is supposed to be protected. Do we really need incinerators polluting the air. This to me is just another feature of politicians doing as they please, since they feel there will be no consequences to themselves.
