I WAS heartened to read the letter from Russell Hopwood about internet safety (13 April). He exhorted the Scottish Government to support the Conservatives’ proposals for the protection of our youth from the dangers of unregulated access to morally damaging material online.

This would be an ideal opportunity for the government to demonstrate its oft-trumpeted policy of consensus and signal its backing for such a measure.
