BBC’s poor show

AM I alone in finding the BBC habit of advertising its programmes and facilities during live broadcasts irritating, for instance during its exclusive live coverage of First Minister’s Questions?

For some years now, particularly in news broadcasts, BBC Scotland has used scarce time, which should be devoted to telling Scots what is happening in Scotland, to give potted versions of documentary programmes scheduled for the near future. These are not news items – they are purely puffs for later programmes and should not get in the way of keeping the nation informed.
