Neglect of patients in an NHS hospital was described as  “unacceptable” (your report, 23 May). It is only unacceptable until the next report of abuse and neglect in a Scottish hospital.

“Unacceptable” has lost any meaning when used to describe neglect and abuse of elderly patients in health service hospitals. If it was truly unacceptable, it would not happen again and again and again.
