Open day to Pass on performing advice

PERFORMING Arts Studio Scotland is holding open day workshops for prospective trainees interested in studying either acting or dance.

Based at Edinburgh's Telford College, Pass is a training institution for those wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts. It includes a new theatre and rehearsal studios, where learners showcase their talents to fellow learners and members of the public.

Offering a wide range of programmes for people of all ages and abilities, the Pass open day will give prospective learners the opportunity to attend practical workshops to get a taste of what life is like as a performing arts trainee at one of Scotland's largest performing arts institutions.

The workshops will be held from 1pm to 3pm on Friday.

Former graduates from the college's performing arts course include Scottish actress and BBC's Doctor Who star Karen Gillan, who said: "A Telford education is a fantastic stepping stone to a career in the arts. Through the encouragement and support, and the most high quality of training, I realised I could pursue a career in acting. I would highly recommend Pass to anyone with an interest in the arts."
