Motorist killed on country road named

A MAN killed after his car broke down on a country road in Fife has been named by police.

Gordon Appleford, 54, from west Fife, had just repaired his car on the B9097 from the Kinglassie to Ballingry Road when it was involved in a crash on Thursday. Mr Appleford was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, where he later died.
