It's a clear sign of cardenfreude

LIVINGSTON resident William Leitch, 77, was helping to spread the news about former MP Jim Devine being found guilty of fiddling his expenses, by taking to the streets with this home-made sign.

The former Labour MP is facing up to seven years in jail after being found guilty of falsely claiming more than 8000.

Mr Leitch admitted he was no fan of Devine, and said the reaction to his sign on the streets of Livingston had been overwhelmingly positive: "Most people here wanted to string him up," he said.

"They have been wanting to shake my hand and some even said the sign should be hung up in one of the council buildings."
