Hotel is hit after 'noisy' Brand and Perry wedding

Managers at a luxury Indian resort hotel are paying the price for hosting a celebrity wedding last weekend.

The location chosen by comedian Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry, below, to exchange their wedding vows has been subject to an investigation by Indian officials.

Yesterday it was confirmed that bosses at the resort are being charged with violating noise laws during the wedding celebrations.

Sawai Madhopur district official Ravi Kumar Surpur said the celebrity couple will not face any action, but the Aman-i-Khas hotel management should be held responsible for breaking rules against loud music after 10pm.

The couple got married on 23 October near Ranthambhore wildlife park in the north-west state of Rajasthan, before flying to the Maldives.

Surpur said that the late-night wedding party noise exceeded the 45-decibel limit.

Criminal lawyer Samundra Singh said the hotel management could face a fine or potentially a few days in jail.

The hotel was not immediately available for comment.
