East Coast warn against rail travel north of Edinburgh
At 10am this morning, Network Rail imposed a 50mph speed restriction on all trains operating north and west of Edinburgh. These restrictions and the temporary closure of the Tay Rail Bridge, have meant that East Coast services north and west of Edinburgh are subject to diversions and disruption.
East Coast expects that it will be required to terminate all of its Anglo-Scots services at Edinburgh later today as the high winds become more severe, particularly across central Scotland.

An East Coast spokesman said: “While services are still running north of Edinburgh, we expect the weather to worsen and further disruption to take place.

“We’re therefore advising customers not to travel north of Edinburgh for the remainder of today
