Balerno High School roof collapses in snow
FIRST-YEAR pupils at a city high school will not be able to return to class until Thursday after heavy snow caused part of a ceiling to collapse.
The weight of snow and icicles on the roof of Balerno High caused part of a ceiling to collapse last Wednesday.
It damaged two ground-floor classrooms, and contractors have been brought in to repair the damage.
Work is still being carried out, and seven classrooms will be out of commission.
A city council spokeswoman said: "Safety is our number one priority."
