Around town: New one-stop venue for sexual health

A NEW one-stop sexual health centre is to open by next spring.

The Integrated Sexual Health Service will unite city-wide services into a single base at the renovated Chalmers Hospital, near Tollcross.

Patients will be able to be tested, diagnosed and treated in the one place, and it is hoped the new clinic will encourage more people to use it.

Unwanted office building to be a karting centre

AN empty office building in Newbridge that has never been occupied is to be turned into an indoor karting centre.

The building at Hully Hill Road - to the south of Newbridge Road - has been empty since it opened in 2002.

Under the new plans, Xtreme Karting would turn the building into a large professional indoor track, with reception and lounge area.

A meeting room, a changing area and a trackside viewing area would also be fitted within the building.

The centre would create 25 new jobs, with around half being full-time.
